Local knowledge — the Spitfire’s birthplace
Woolston is where the Supermarine Spitfire was designed and first built (the Supermarine works stood on Hazel Road); the neighbouring former Vosper Thornycroft shipyard has since been redeveloped as Centenary Quay — a real slice of local history on our patch. The wider SO19 runs down to Weston Shore with its views across Southampton Water to Fawley. We cover the riverside developments and the Thornhill and Sholing estates daily for airport, cruise and city journeys.
