London City → Cruise — how it works
The route
London City Airport (LCY) to Southampton cruise port is around 95 miles via the A13 / A1020 / M25 (J30 Lakeside) / M3 — typically 2h 15m to 2h 45m. The Docklands approach to the M25 (A13 westbound) and the M25 anticlockwise stretch (J30 to J12) are the main variables. Live traffic checked on the day.
Which terminals we cover
All four active Southampton cruise terminals: Ocean (Berth 46/47, SO14 3QN — Cunard, P&O), City (Dock Gate 4, SO15 1HJ — Princess, Royal Caribbean), Mayflower (Dock Gate 10, SO15 1HQ — MSC, Celebrity), Horizon (Berth 38/39, SO14 3GG). Common pattern is LCY business-flight arrival → drive direct to cruise terminal for evening sailings.
Why LCY for a cruise embarkation
LCY is favoured by business travellers connecting from intra-European destinations (Frankfurt, Zurich, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dublin, Geneva, Milan). The compact single terminal means under 15 minutes from landing to outside the terminal. Combined with a Southampton cruise sailing, it offers a clean intra-Europe-to-cruise itinerary — no Heathrow / Gatwick chaos.
Private jet / FBO terminals
LCY also hosts private jet arrivals via Harrods Aviation and Signature Aviation FBOs (separate from the main commercial terminal). We meet at the appropriate FBO entrance on request — common for premium cruise embarkations and Cunard / Cunard Queens Grill suite passengers.
What is included
LCY meet-and-greet at the compact arrivals hall (or the FBO entrance for private terminals), name-board hold, 60 minutes free wait post-landing, A13 tolls, M25 / Dartford toll allowance, Congestion / ULEZ Zone passage on the day if applicable, drop-off at the cruise terminal forecourt with luggage handed to porters. Flight tracking on inbound LCY arrivals at no extra charge.
