How our wheelchair-friendly service works
What we can do
We carry passengers who use a folding (collapsible) wheelchair. As long as you are able to transfer into a standard car seat — with help from our driver and/or a companion — we bring you door to door and stow your folded wheelchair safely in the boot. One thing to know up front: a folded wheelchair needs real space, so you will need to book our 8-seater MPV — a Premium estate boot cannot take a wheelchair. In the MPV there is easily room for the chair, you and your luggage. Boarding assistance and stowing the wheelchair are included at no extra charge, and a companion is always welcome to travel with you.
What we cannot do — please read before booking
We do not operate a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV): there is no ramp or lift, so a passenger cannot stay seated in their wheelchair for the journey. We also cannot carry non-folding wheelchairs, heavy powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters that do not fold down to fit in the boot. If you need to remain in your wheelchair or have a powered chair that does not fold, you will need a dedicated WAV operator — tell us and we will be upfront about it rather than take a booking we cannot fulfil.
Where we take you
Airport transfers (Heathrow, Gatwick, Southampton) with assistance to the terminal, cruise terminal transfers for embarkation, hospital and medical appointments (Southampton General, Spire), and everyday local journeys across the city. Pre-book and tell us the details so we allocate a vehicle with the right space and boot room.
Trained, patient drivers
Our drivers are licensed, DBS-checked and used to assisting passengers with reduced mobility — no rush, no fuss. They help you transfer in and out, load and unload the folded wheelchair and any mobility aids, and give you the extra time you need. We also carry ambulant passengers who simply need a little more support.
