Stansted → Cruise — how it works
The route
London Stansted (STN) to Southampton cruise port is around 135 miles via the M11 (J8 Bishop's Stortford) / M25 (J27 to J12) / M3 — typically 2h 30m to 3h 15m. M25 anticlockwise traffic (especially the J16-J19 stretch at peak hours) is the main variable. We avoid M25 anticlockwise at rush hour where possible by leaving STN earlier or routing via M40 / A34.
Which terminals we cover
All four active Southampton cruise terminals: Ocean (Berth 46/47, SO14 3QN), City (Dock Gate 4, SO15 1HJ), Mayflower (Dock Gate 10, SO15 1HQ), Horizon / QEII (Berth 38/39, SO14 3GG). Our dispatch confirms which dock gate to use on your specific sailing date.
Pre-cruise overnight strongly recommended
Given the 3-hour drive from STN, many passengers prefer to fly into STN the day before sailing and overnight at a Stansted-area hotel (Radisson Blu STN, Hampton by Hilton STN, Premier Inn STN). This removes any inbound-flight-delay risk to your cruise. Multi-leg quoted as a single fixed price.
Which cruise lines does this work for?
All Southampton-based cruise lines — Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Celebrity, Norwegian, Disney, Holland America, Fred Olsen, Saga. We know each line's terminal and check-in process and time arrival to your assigned slot.
What is included
Stansted single-terminal meet-and-greet with a name board at arrivals, 60 minutes free wait time post-landing, M11 / M25 / M3 tolls, Dartford toll allowance, Stansted short-stay parking on arrival, drop-off at the cruise terminal forecourt, luggage handled to porters.
