About Southampton cruise transfers
Four active terminals
Southampton is the UK's busiest cruise port — Ocean, City, Mayflower and Horizon (formerly QEII) terminals handle Cunard, P&O, Princess, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Celebrity, Holland America, Norwegian, Fred Olsen and Saga sailings. Tell us your ship and date; we look up the active terminal and confirm the drop-off point.
The four terminals at a glance
Ocean Cruise Terminal (Berth 46/47, Eastern Docks, SO14 3QN) is one of the most-used embarkation points in the UK — Cunard's Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth call here, alongside Princess Cruises and P&O. City Cruise Terminal (Western Docks, SO15 1HJ) is designed for large ships and handles Princess, Royal Caribbean (Anthem of the Seas, Independence of the Seas), Norwegian and Disney Cruise Line. Mayflower Cruise Terminal (Dock Gate 10, Western Docks, SO15 1HQ) is the primary turnaround for MSC, Celebrity, Norwegian and Holland America — and the closest terminal to the M271 exit. Horizon Cruise Terminal (Berth 38/39, Eastern Docks, SO14 3GG) is the renamed QEII terminal, used for Cunard overflow, MSC and Princess sailings; it is adjacent to Ocean Terminal via Dock Gate 4. It is essential to check your cruise booking to confirm which terminal you depart from — cruise lines are not limited to a single terminal.
Ship-aware timing
On embarkation we time pickup so you arrive 30-60 minutes before your assigned check-in slot — early enough to skip the queue, late enough to avoid waiting around with luggage. On disembarkation, we track your ship's docking time live and adjust pickup automatically if it's delayed.
Compared to other options
Train + taxi from Southampton Central involves two handoffs with cruise luggage. Pre-booked private hire is door-to-terminal-entrance: driver handles luggage to porters, no public transport interchanges, and pricing is fixed before you book. For 2+ passengers it usually beats train + taxi on cost.
Multi-leg cruise journeys
We routinely handle airport → cruise (overnight stop optional) and cruise → airport / onward UK transfers as multi-leg bookings on a single fixed price. Common patterns: Heathrow arrival → Southampton hotel overnight → cruise terminal next morning; cruise disembarkation → Heathrow / Gatwick direct.
